Our X-ray sources are used by global customers within semiconductor & electronics manufacturing, battery production & quality control, material science, chemistry & life science research.
We are now entering an exciting phase where our products are being adopted more widely in industry, which brings new demands on performance, reliability and scale. As part of this journey we are looking for software engineers to join our team. Here you step into an environment where complex systems, problem solving and high technical ambition come together.
As a software engineer at Excillum you will work in a broad role and contribute to both new development and improvements of existing products. Most development is done in C++ and Python in a Linux environment, and your work will connect closely to advanced physics. You and the team work toward achieving a precise X-ray spot and build solutions that are reliable, high performing and easy to integrate for our customers.
Your core tasks:
- Develop and implement algorithms to enhance X-ray performance
- Work with control logic, hardware integration and error handling
- Build and improve UI components (GUI/HMI)
- Test and debug your own software on real hardware
- Work cross functionally with researchers, application specialists and hardware team
- Contribute to design discussions and help shape technical solutions
To succeed in this role
You enjoy working through challenges with others and aren’t afraid to explore new approaches when the answer isn’t obvious. You communicate openly, stay positive and create order in fast moving situations. You take pride in creating solutions that are stable, thoughtful and reliable.
You also have:
- A M.Sc. in software engineering, physics, electronics, mechatronics or similar
- A few years of professional experience with C++
- Experience working in Linux
- Professional English skills
- It is a plus if you have experience with Python, Docker, Yocto or physics simulations, as well as an interest in physics and familiarity with complex systems
